Monetization

What is an Alternative to Google Adsense?

If you own a website and are looking to make some money from it, then one of your best options would be to put ads on your site.

When I first heard of putting ads on my site, the platform I came across was Google Adsense, which sure you’ve heard of, it is the largest adsense platform out there, and a very profitable one.

So like most people, I signed up and started to see some money coming in. All was going great for a few weeks until suddenly, I received a message similar to this:

“Your Google Adsense account has been disabled or temporarily banned”.

However, I tried to stay optimistic and told myself it would be fine. They allow you send a request to repeal this, so I decided to try that.

A day later, I checked if I was back in business, and my request was rejected. Back to square one.

The part that really angered me was even though I had made like $70 from them already, I would receive none of it, because they don’t payout until you get to $100, which was now impossible to reach.

Instead of crying about it or complaining to Google (which would only make it worse), I decided that I would seek some alternatives.

So my search began, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are actually quite a few alternatives out there to try that are just as good as Google Adsense.

With that being said, here are some of the best Google Adsense alternatives out there, I’ll tell you how they all work and why you should consider using them.

Note that these are in no particular order.

RevContentRevContent

RevContent is a Native Ads network with some of the highest quality ads and approval process in the industry.

Native Ads have a very high engagement when comparing it to the competition of regular banners, and they also blend in perfectly with your website, just looking like related articles.

They also pay quite nicely, ranging from $0.01 – $0.10 per click.

Some of the world’s largest websites (like Forbes), use RevContent to add revenue to their Adsense earnings.

I think that RevContent is definitely a network you should give a try and use with other networks on this list to improve your earnings.

PropellerAds MediaPropellerAds

PropellerAds is one of the largest pop-under networks that exist.

They have been around for quite some time now and have quite a large network with great pay.

Some niches that they specialize in monetizing are as follows: entertainment, games, finances, software, and more.

If you’ve got a site relating to something along those lines, you could more make more money using PropellerAds than you could ever imagine with Google Adsense.

I want to also let you know that they do have banners, but I find the pop-under ads to be superior overall.

If you have a lot of mobile traffic, they are an even better alternative because they work closely with ad networks that modify mobile apps and mobile services, which will in turn lead to higher ROIs.

Not to mention their great fill rate for tier 2-3 counties, so if you are struggling to monetize your traffic from India, Turkey and South Africa, etc, PropellerAds has got you covered.

In my opinion, I think that PropellerAds is one of the best Google Adsense alternatives there is, and I think they can really improve your profit.

Media.netMedia.net

If you are looking for the closest alternative there is to Google Adsense, than look no further than Media.net, The Bing and Yahoo version of Adsense.

Media.net is one of the best in the industry at developing innovative advertising products for both publishers and advertisers.

In terms of revenue, Media.net runs the second largest contextual ads program worldwide.

They exclusively manage technology, business operations and relationships, making sure that publishers worldwide are satisfied with this program.

Currently, Media.net is the leading contextual ad company, offering a wide range of advertising and traffic monetization solutions to a very broad client base.

Media.net also has one of the largest teams worldwide, over 500 employees!

On top of all of that, they only take about 2 days to get your account approved, compared to Google Adsense taking weeks, and you will get an extra 10% of your earnings in the first 3 months!

InfolinksInfolinks

Infolinks has been around for a long time and is a very large CPC (cost per click) based advertising network, helping over 200,000 online publishers in over 100 different countries earn money from unused space.

Their native ads work great with all ad solutions and don’t interfere with the user’s experience.

The customization of these ads is truly exceptional, being able to choose from 5 different styles, in-text, in-fold, in-tag, in-frame and in-article.

Their platform is very simple to integrate into your site and won’t take long at all. It is open to any publisher, no matter how big or small, with no setup fees, no minimum requirements for users, and no hidden commitments.

Infolinks advertisers are selected based on quality, that’s why they work with so many worldwide leading brands, like Amazon and Pizza Hut.

Shake it Off!

Life won’t always go your way. Some things are out of your control and happen for no real reason. Instead of getting mad over something you cannot control, I think it would be better to take it upon yourself and look for a solution.

When Google Adsense stopped letting me advertise, instead of getting upset and quitting, I instead searched for a solution to my issue, which I eventually found in these platforms.

If I hadn’t been dropped, I don’t think I would have ever came across these alternatives, I would have been just fine with having just Google Adsense and what they offered on my site.

Now that I found these, I realize that I can use a lot more than just one platform for magnetization and that there is a ton of other magnetization strategies that Google Adsense doesn’t offer.

I can really add and test an assortment of ad services and strategies until I eventually find ways to advertise that will earn me more money than I could ever imagine earning with Google Adsense.

I’m not trying to say that Google Adsense is bad. It is a great magnetization platform, but I just want to make it clear that it isn’t the only one, or the best one out there.

  1. I have had issues with Google Adsense myself as well, and have been looking for alternatives. I did not realize there are so many options to choose from. Is there a particular company that is better for a fitness website? Some of these companies have specific niche areas they focus on. I am pretty interested in Media.net. They approve quickly which is a bonus! Thanks for sharing this, it’s been very helpful for me.

    1. Your not alone, tons of people have had issues with Google Adsense. For a fitness site, I would actually recommend Infolinks, they have a lot of fitness ads.
      Media.net is great too.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed, and I wish you the best of luck with these alternatives.

  2. I too, had problems with Google Adsense.

However, I couldn’t even get my foot in the door to begin with, haha!!

My content is “too mature,” which is understandable.

I am looking for alternatives, so this information is very helpful.

    Thank you.

  3. This is great information. I personally don’t like Google Adds, but don’t tell them I said so. It might mess up my rankings:)
Seriously, I am going to look in to all of these for sure. What about Amazon adds. I like them a lot and you can have native adds, recommended adds or you can totally customize adds. You should check it out.
    Thanks again.

    1. Thank you for the kind words!
      I won’t tell!
I highly recommend that you look into these, these can all really benefit you, just depending on how you plan to use each of them.
Amazon has associates, and you can display native ads, I probably should have added them to this list, but I thought I would include some of the lesser known alternatives.
I will further look into them and maybe update this post.
Thank you very much for reading and good luck with your website!

  4. Thank you SO much for this. I haven’t been able to get accepted with Google Adsense (although I still can’t figure out why) so I want something that’s just as good, and these alternatives seem like a no-brainer. I care a lot about high quality traffic and usability. My first choice will probably be RevContent. If I don’t have much success I will try out PropellerAds. Thanks for this article.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed Brandon!
I don’t understand why Google Adsense does this, but it’s definitely good to know that there are some great alternatives out there.
Thank you very much for reading, good luck with your site!

  5. These sound like great alternatives. You never know when a product that has been selling well for you will stop selling, or be recalled. Having alternatives in the internet marketing world is essential!

    1. If it weren’t for these alternatives, Google would have a monopoly over adsense and I’m glad that that isn’t the case, a monopoly isn’t good for any economy.
Thank you very much for reading Melinda!
