Laptop Performance

The power of this laptop depends solely on the model you pick.  The cheapest has Intel’s Core m3 processor which offers better battery life by sacrificing computing power.  It will be fine for basic tasks such as browsing and most office duties, but not much more than that.

In the middle, is the Intel Core i5 processor, which will be a good choice for most, balancing price with performance.  It is still able to do most demanding tasks, and the fact that it is fanless is a huge selling point.

At the high end, you will find the Intel Core i7 processor, where you will not only get the fastest CPU performance, but be able to perform the most demanding of tasks.  However, this laptop is not good for gaming due to the absence of a good graphics card.  Microsoft intended for the Surface Pro to be used as a general productivity laptop, not a gaming laptop.

Microsoft Computers tend to have the fastest and smoothest Windows experience, and this laptop is no exception.  The Microsoft Surface Pro also has one of the fastest resume from standby responses out there, and with Windows Hello facial recognition, it detects your face and logs you in before you even touch the keyboard.

It also has 4,096 pressure points now, 4x the sensitivity of the last model, delivering an excellent experience when drawing or writing.

Features

  • One full-size USB 3.0
  • Mini DisplayPort
  • Headset Jack
  • Surface Connect
  • microSDXC card reader

Accessories

Type Cover

The main accessory for the Microsoft Surface Pro is the Type Cover.  The type cover is an attachable keyboard that is sold separately, but it is what turns the Surface Pro from a tablet into a laptop, so it is highly recommended.

Pen

Another necessary accessory is the pen, and for whatever reason it doesn’t come with one.

Mouse

Finally, I would highly recommend you pick up a mouse.  The trackpad isn’t bad, but having a mouse is much more efficient, especially if you plan to run a business.
