How to Make Money from an eBook – Without Writing One!

Among the countless ways of making money online, there is one way that is very commonly used and that is through writing an eBook. The idea of writing an eBook however, seems to scare some people off because they think that they have to be some expert author with tons of experience in writing.

Well you don’t, and as a matter of fact, you don’t even need to write it at all if you follow the strategy used in this post. There are other ways to make money from an eBook, another very popular way being through Affiliate Marketing, which you can learn more about Here.

If you like the idea of making money from an eBook that you don’t even have to write and that is 100% legal to use, then this is the way to go for you. There is a 3 step process to doing this, which I will explain now.

Step 1: Hire Your WriterWriter

The first step in making money from an eBook is of course having an eBook to sell. You can write the eBook yourself, but that takes quite some time to not only do the research, but to also make it sound good, so I would recommend you hire one from Fiverr.com.

To do this, first head over to Fiverr.com, and search the term “Ghost Writer”. Ghost writing is very simple, it is a service where you hire someone to write a book for you, and you get to claim that you wrote it. You own all the rights to it and you don’t even have to say you had it ghost-written, which I think is pretty cool.

Note that when you search ghost writer, a lot of results will show up, and prices will vary widely, so be sure to search thoroughly to ensure you can get the most words for your buck, and when you find your best option, order that service.

A writer to choose is someone who is charging $5 per 500 words, and someone who also has a lot of positive reviews. Before you order it, make 100% sure that you will own all the rights to it. You will want to make your eBook anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 words, which is perfect for a viral eBook, and will only cost about $50 to $100.

You may be thinking to yourself, “wait a minute, I don’t want to spend my money on this!”, and what I say to that is that you have to spend money to make money, every smart entrepreneur knows this.

The last step to making sure your eBook is extremely popular is choosing a viral niche. An example of a viral niche would be something along the lines of “How to Make Your First Million Dollars” or “How to Stop Procrastinating… tomorrow”. Make sure to tell your ghost writer that you want this to be your title, and explain some subject matter you want included.

After your eBook is written, you should next publish it to Amazon.com, which is an extremely popular eBook store, with over 310 million active buyers scrolling through Amazon daily! You can list your eBook on Amazon absolutely free of charge.

When pricing your book, a good price would be around $10 – $20, not too little so people don’t think it is bad, but not so much that people won’t be willing to spend the money for it.

Step 2: Get ReviewsGet Good Feedback

Get your friends and family to give your eBook good reviews on Amazon.com. Amazon eBooks are rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. If someone saw that you have some good reviews, the odds of them buying your eBook increase. If you feel awkward asking friend and family to leave you reviews, that’s ok, you can also buy $5 reviews on Fiverr.com.

Just search for Amazon book review and plenty of people will come up. In general, these people will give an honest review, but usually leave 3 to 5 stars, which is plenty to convince people that your book is worth it. With your book written, has an awesome title, has a viral niche, and has some good reviews, you are almost done.

Now you can stop here and let the book sell itself, but if you want to speed things up and get your book sold faster, then you should probably promote your eBook.

Step 3: Promote Your eBookcold call

Selling a good eBook is a lot easier than most people think and can make you a lot of money. All you need to do is what every other business did to start up and get people to see their product, and that is calling people on the phone. I know a lot of people are against cold calling and think it is unethical, but it is completely fine and a very effective way of promoting your eBook.

To do this, find a phone book of a heavily populated area like Chicago, and start calling people and asking them if they are interested in your eBook. If you are nervous and shy about talking to people on the phone, use a script that looks something like this:

“Hello (customer name)! My name is (your name), and I recently published an eBook about (your niche / book title), and I am looking for interested people. This eBook can definitely change your life for the better, and has already changed some peoples lives and has received some great reviews that you can see on Amazon.com. You probably get calls like this all the time, but I think this book is totally worth it, and you won’t regret the purchase. Do you have any interest?”

Don’t get discouraged if your first 10 calls don’t get any sales, because odds are most people won’t want to buy your eBook, but that is fine. The more people you call, the greater chance you have of making a sale.

Just think of how many people you could call in an hour. Lets say you can make a call every 2 minutes, so 30 calls in an hour. Lets also say that you can sell one in every 10 calls. If this is the case, your hourly wage would range anywhere from $30 to $60 an hour, depending on the price of your eBook.

Another strategy to use is if someone agrees to buy your book, write their number down in a notebook, and when you publish another eBook, call them again. Your chances of selling something to someone is much higher if they have previously bought from you.

Publish Another!

That’s all there is to it! If you have called a lot of people, have made some decent money and saw that this in fact works, then the logical next step would be to get another one written, and get that one sold!

In the past, I mentioned another way of earning money from an eBook, and that is through affiliate marketing. If you combine both of these strategies, you can make the ultimate eBook for making maximum cash. Click Here to read my post about making affiliate money form an eBook.
