Survey Scams To Avoid

There are 5 red flags when it comes to online surveys. If they do any of the following, they are most likely attempting to scam you.

They Ask you for Money

This may seem obvious, but most scam survey sites wouldn’t keep showing up if people didn’t keep falling for them. There are literally hundreds of these scams on the internet and they usually promise you the access to top paying surveys if you give them some money, when in reality, they are taking your money and you get nothing. Once you pay, all you get is a little eBook filled with some links that you could have easily found for free, if you had searched google.

They Offer you Too Much Money

If a survey is saying you get $50 for a survey, you should turn back and look elsewhere. Good rule of thumb, if it sounds too good to be true, then it simply isn’t true.

They Make you Pre-Qualify, by Asking Hundreds of Questions

These types of surveys are very sneaky on how they get you. It isn’t uncommon for a survey to ask you a couple of pre-qualifying questions to see if you meet their target demographic, the problem is when they ask you hundreds of questions, it takes forever and then they say “Sorry, you don’t qualify”. The catch is that you just took the survey and they didn’t pay you because it was in the name of pre-qualification.

They Require an Unachievable Amount Before Sending you a Check

This one is extremely annoying. You join a survey group, and they promise you a couple dollars per survey you take. There is nothing wrong with that, until you find out later that you must accumulate a ridiculous amount of earnings before they send you a check. This scam is very popular among survey companies because they know very few people will actually stick with it long enough to see a check.

No Privacy Policy

Before you sign up, always make sure the survey company has a privacy policy; otherwise your personal information and email could be in danger. These sites often take your information and sell it to other companies. This means you will see a lot more spam than you will money.

Start Earning!Money for Survey

Now that you have signed up, it is time to start filling out surveys and start making money. Again, I don’t think surveys are the best way to go when it comes to making some serious money online, but they are definitely a pretty good place to earn a little extra cash.
